This is a popular Rajasthani sweet dish. An indian style brea pudding.

Shahi Tukda

Ingredients to make Shahi Tukda

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup Rabri (sweetened thickened milk)
  • Oil/ghee
  • Roasted cashewnuts and almonds
  • pistachios (optional)

How to make Shahi Tukda

  1. Cut the slices diagonally.
  2. Fry the slices untill brown from both the sides.
  3. Take a pan add sugar and water.
  4. Cook till one thread consistency is attained.
  5. Dip the fried bread in sugar syrup.
  6. Top with rabri and nuts.
  7. Can be served warm or chilled
