Chicken Tikka

Ingredients to make Chicken Tikka

  • Boneless chicken – 500 gms cut into bite sized pieces.
  • Thick yoghurt – 200 gms
  • Bell peppers – 3 (any color of your choice) cut in an inch chunks.
  • Cherry tomatoes – 100 gms
  • Fresh ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  • red chilli Powder – 2 tbsp
  • turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
  • coriander Powder – 2 tbsp
  • cumin Powder – 2 tbsp
  • olive oil – 2 tsp
  • salt to taste
  • Garam masala powder – 1 tsp (adjust as per the spice you want)
  • Fresh coriander – 1/2 cup chopped
  • Fresh mint Leaves – few
  • onion – 1 thinly sliced
  • lemon – 1 cut in half

How to make Chicken Tikka

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk yogurt along with ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric, coriander powder, cumin powder, olive oil, salt and garam masala.
  2. Add in boneless chicken pieces, cherry tomatoes and bell peppers. Cover and leave this to marinade for 2 hours or overnight.
  3. Alternatively on a skewer thread in chicken pieces, tomatoes and peppers. You can even get kids into action and ask them to arrange skewers.
  4. Preheat Philips air fryer for 5 minutes at 200C or alternatively you can use your oven/grill for grilling.
  5. Line the basket with aluminium foil and line the skewers.
  6. Grill for 12-15 minutes or till chicken pieces turn tender by turning each skewer once in a while to cook evenly on all sides.
  7. Serve hot by garnishing with coriander leaves, mint leaves, sliced onions and freshly squeezed lime juice.
