ABOUT Chicken Shawarma RECIPE

A wonderful chicken shawarma that is simple and consists of the classic shawarma flavours.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 8 skinless, boneless chicken thighs
  2. For the marinade:
  3. Hung curd – 100 gm
  4. All spice powder - 2 gm
  5. Garam masala powder - 3 gm
  6. Chilly powder - 3 gm
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Turmeric powder – 3 gm
  9. Cumin powder – 3 gm
  10. Coriander powder – 3 gm
  11. For the Sauce:
  12. Mayonnaise - 50 gm
  13. Yogurt - 50 gm
  14. Garlic - 20 gm
  15. Olive oil – 10 gm
  16. Parsley cop - 5 gm
  17. Salt and pepper to taste
  18. For plating:
  19. Thinly sliced tomatoes – 65 gm
  20. Iceberg lettuce shredded – 100 gm
  21. Hummus - 50 gm
  22. Pickled Onion 50 gm
  23. Khubus Bread

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into thin long slices and marinate for 4 hours.
  2. Pan sear the chicken on both sides till nice and brown and then finish cooking in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 8 minutes.
  3. Heat the khubus bread on both sides till nice and hot. Apply a tablespoon of hummus, some lettuce and then add 100 gm of chicken.
  4. Put some sauce, pickle onion, tomato and some more sauce. Close the wrap and serve hot.
