Shabnam Kari

Ingredients to make Shabnam Kari

  • Chenna- 1/2 cup
  • Paneer- 1 cup
  • Maida for binding- as required
  • 1 cup Nutrela granules
  • Ginger- Garlic and Chilli paste- 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • For the gravy:
  • Kaju/Cashew paste- 1 tbsp
  • Ginger-Garlic paste- 1 tsp
  • Chilli powder as per taste
  • 1/2 cup fresh cream
  • Saunf powder
  • Tomato puree 1/2 cup
  • Fried onion paste- 1/2 cup
  • Garam Masala 1/2 tsp
  • Elaichi powder- a pinch
  • Oil and desi ghee- 2 tbsp
  • Coriander powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste

How to make Shabnam Kari

  1. Mix the chenna with maida and make a dough. Then fill it with the nutrela chunks, dry fruits, ginger-garlic and chilli paste with salt to taste and deep fry them . Keep aside. shabnam khofte n garnish with coriander fresh cream
  2. To make the gravy, heat oil in a pan, then cook the ginger-garlic paste in it. Next put in the onion, tomato and kaju paste and cook it for another 4-5 mins.
  3. Then put in the chilli powder, saunf powder, elaichi powder, coriander powder and garam masala. Stir well and add salt as per taste. Let it cook for another 4-5 mins.
  4. Now put in shabnam khofte into this gravy dish and cook it for 2 mins. Then turn off the stove and pour this dish into a plate and garnish it with coriander and fresh cream.
  5. Serve with lacchedar onion mixed with green chutney.
