ABOUT Fried Calamari RECIPE

One of the most popular bar snacks this is a very simple dish to replicate at home

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 kg cleaned calamari
  2. 2 cups milk
  3. 12 tblsp vinegar
  4. 1 tsp salt
  5. 1 tsp any dried herb of your choice
  6. 3 cups flour
  7. 1 tsp paprika powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Start by chopping the calamari into rings of 1/2 inch.
  2. 2. In a large plastic bowl add milk and vinegar and keep aside for five minutes and then add the calamari to it. Let it marinate for 1 hour.
  3. 3. In a bowl mix together the salt, dried herbs, paprika and flour. Sift a couple of times to aerate it.
  4. 4. Add the calamari to the flour mix and dust off the excess flour.
  5. 5. Heat oil till it's ready to fry and drop in the calamari one at a time. Fry until golden brown. Serve with a wedge of lime and chipotle mayo

Hi Hoon...You have said mix calamari to the flour and dust off excess flour..how can it be possible because the calamari is marinated in milk vinegar etc. so dusting off excess flour does not arise.... i tried it ....it was a flop that is when i realised the contradiction..
