Butter Fried Prawns

Ingredients to make Butter Fried Prawns

  • 1/2 kg prawn - Skin peeled and cleaned
  • Cornflakes/Quaker/Nestum - Blend into fine powder
  • Unsalted butter - 200g
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Lime juice - 2 tbsp
  • Fresh Milk - 1/2 cup
  • 1 Egg - Well beaten
  • Salt to taste
  • A pinch of pepper

How to make Butter Fried Prawns

  1. Clean the prawns well and strain the remaining water.
  2. In a bowl, add prawn, milk, salt, pepper, lime juice, chilli powder and egg.
  3. Mix well and let marinate for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Melt the butter on low heat.
  5. Coat the prawn with blended Cornflakes/Quaker/Nestum and fry until it turns golden brown.
  6. Serve hot with your favorite sauce.

My Tip:

#1 - You can substitute unsalted butter with salted butter but REMEMBER to REDUCE the amount of SALT during marination. #2 - If you are not a butter fan, you can use 100g butter with 100ml cooking oil for frying. #3- DO NOT overcook the prawn. Fry time should be within 1-2 minutes only on MEDIUM heat.
