These healthy pancakes made with a secret 'healthy' ingredient is perfect to start any day; but can be a sweet surprise for your Valentine too!

Healthy Red Velvet Pancakes

Ingredients to make Healthy Red Velvet Pancakes

  • 1 large ripe banana
  • 1.5 tbsp whole wheat flour
  • 1 large egg slightly beaten
  • 2 tbsp full fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp ghee or clarified butter
  • 1 - 2 tsp of puréed cooked beetroot
  • 1/4 tsp of baking powder
  • A pinch of salt

How to make Healthy Red Velvet Pancakes

  1. In a deep bowl mash the bananas to form a smooth paste.
  2. Add the flour and combine well. Add the salt, beet puree and egg nd mix well till combined. Next mix in the yogurt and the ghee.
  3. Heat a nonstick pan nd when ready, mix in the baking powder swiftly into the batter. Pour small ladle full of batter and wait till the top appears firm or bubbles form.
  4. Flip over gently nd cook for few more seconds. Serve warm with honey or chocolate sauce.

My Tip:

Do not over mix the batter. Do not over cook the pancakes.
