Mega Choco-Lava Cake

Ingredients to make Mega Choco-Lava Cake

  • 200 grams plain flour/apf
  • 65 grams butter
  • 1/2 tin sweetened condensed milk (200 grams)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 5-6 tablespoons cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee powder
  • 65 grams caster sugar and 2 tablespoons
  • 50 grams dark chocolate
  • 100 grams milk chocolate
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup Milk

How to make Mega Choco-Lava Cake

  1. Grease and dust your cake tins with butter and flour. Preheat your oven to 170 degree centigrade.
  2. If using coffee powder, to a cup of hot water add coffee powder and stir. Let it come to room temperature before using.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, cocoa powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt (if not using salted butter).
  4. In another bowl cream butter, sugar and vanilla essence. Add condensed milk and incorporate it well. Do not over mix.
  5. Add half dry ingredients and half a cup of milk to the butter mixture. Incorporate and add the rest and incorporate it well.
  6. Pour in cake tins and bake for 35 - 40 minutes at 170 degree Centigrade or until done. When baked cool them on a wire rack.
  7. For filling melt both the chocolates in a microwave. Add milk, heavy cream and sugar and mix well. Let it come to room temperature. Whisk it for 5 minutes.
  8. Scoop out some cake and pour enough filling in it. Place the other slice of cake on top of it and pour some more filling over it.
My Tip: This cake is best served warm.
