Bhungda bateka (finger fryums with baby potatoes)

Ingredients to make Bhungda bateka (finger fryums with baby potatoes)

  • Baby potatoes 500gms
  • turmeric powder 1 pinch
  • oil(for frying) as required
  • oil 1 cup
  • salt as per taste
  • Kashmiri mirchi powder 2tsp
  • Red mirchi powder 3tsp
  • coriander leaves for garnish
  • Jagerry 50gms
  • imli 25gms
  • dates 100gms
  • Bhungada(finger fryums) 1 pack
  • Mix sprouts 250gms
  • garlic 100gms
  • cumin seeds 1 tsp

How to make Bhungda bateka (finger fryums with baby potatoes)

  1. Boil baby potatoes till done
  2. Deep fry finger chips and keep aside
  3. Boil imli and seedless dates
  4. Crush them and remove threads of imli and strain
  5. Add water,salt,jaggery, sauted cumin seeds, red mirchi and boil for some minutes till it becomes thick
  6. Transfer in another bowl and cool
  7. Take a pan add 1tsp oil add mix sprouts and add salt and red mirchi according to taste.
  8. Quickly turn off gas after mixing and transfer to another bowl
  9. When baby potatoes cool down peel them and with help of toothpick to tiny holes to insure
  10. Peel garlic and grind in fine paste in mixer
  11. Add oil in a pan, when hot add crushed garlic, immediately add potatoes then add salt as per taste, red mirchi powder , kadhmiri mirchi powder and pinch of turmeric.
  12. Mix well and switch off gas
  13. Transfer it to another bowl and add lots of coriander leaves.
  14. Enjoy by adding chutney from above as per sweetness required. Dip finger chips in potatoes and have a bite with crunch. In between have a spoon of sprouts to save your tongue from burning as its very spicy.
  15. I bet you will lick your fingers.

My Tip:

Do not over boil potatoes. Do not over saute sprouts.
