Ingredients to make Fried Toor Dal Drumstick Curry

  • Drumstick 1/4 kg
  • Toor dal 1 cup
  • water
  • salt to taste
  • Cooking oil 2 tsp
  • mustard seeds 1 tsp
  • red chilli 1-3
  • cumin seeds 1/4 tsp
  • asafoetida a pinch
  • tamarind 1/2 gooseberry sized
  • coriander seeds 2 tsp
  • Urad dal 1 tsp
  • jaggery 1 tsp

How to make Fried Toor Dal Drumstick Curry

  1. 1 CUP OF TOOR DAL
  2. ADD 1 TSP OF COOKING OIL AND FRY TILL GOLDEN COLOR
  3. ADD WATER AND WASH CLEANLY 2 TIMES
  4. ADD SOME WATER AND PRESSURE COOK FOR 3-4 WHISTLES
  5. WASH AND CUT 1/4 KG DRUMSTICKS
  6. ADD INTO BOILING WATER
  7. SALT TO TASTE, CLOSE THE LID AND COOK
  8. HEAT COCONUT OIL 1 TSP ADD 1 TSP URAD DAL
  9. RED CHILLI 1, CUMIN SEEDS 1/4 TSP, CORIANDER SEEDS 2 TSP
  10. ADD ASAFOETIDA AND FRY IN LOW FLAME TILL GOOD AROMA
  11. TURN OFF THE FLAME, ADD 1/4 TSP TURMERIC POWDER AND TAMARIND 1/2 GOOSEBERRY SIZED
  12. 1 CUP GRATED COCONUT
  13. TRANSFER INTO MIXIE JAR
  14. ADD HALF PORTION OF COOKED TOOR DAL
  15. GRIND SMOOTHLY
  16. ADD REMAINING COOKED TOOR DAL IN TO COOKED DRUMSTICKS
  17. ADD GROUND MASALA
  18. JAGGERY 1 TSP AND SUFFICIENT WATER, ALLOW IT TO BOIL
  19. HEAT OIL, FRY 1 TSP MUSTARD SEEDS AND 1 PIECE RED CHILLI
  20. ADD SEASONING INTO BOILING CURRY, TURN OFF THE FLAME
