About Idli Upma Recipe

This a even more yummy makeover of the healthy idlis for a perfect breakfast.

Idli Upma

Ingredients to make Idli Upma

  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1/2 tsp Rai [mustard seeds]
  • Pinch Hing [asafoetida]
  • 4 to 6 washed Kaddipatta [curry leaves]
  • 1 Green chili Finely Chopped
  • 1 big onion chopped
  • 1/2 tomato small finely chopped
  • salt to taste
  • Haldi [turmeric powder] 1/2 tsp
  • red chilli powder 1/2 tsp
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp coriander leaves
  • 10 to 12 idlis crumbled with little water
  • And little water according to consistency

How to make Idli Upma

  1. Take a pan, add ghee then hing then Rai, when they splutter add Green chilli kadipatta and onion .
  2. Saute for few minutes. when onion turn pink add tomato and all dry spices or masala. then add sugar and mix well.
  3. Add lemon juice and when it starts leaving oil, add crumbled and mashed idli with water.. After one boil garnish with dhaniya [coriander] and serve immediately...

My Tip:

For idli first only add in water... It will be mashed properly..
