Shahi Mutton Korma

Ingredients to make Shahi Mutton Korma

  • Mutton - 1/2 kg
  • onion (thinly sliced) - 1 cup
  • ginger paste - 1/2 tbsp
  • garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • red chilly powder - 1 tsp
  • turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Meat masala - 1 tsp
  • cinnamon - 1 piece
  • cloves - 2 pieces
  • mace - a little
  • cardamom - 3 pieces
  • cashew paste - 2 tbsp
  • yogurt - 1/2 cup
  • Boiled egg - cut in 4 pieces
  • ghee - as required
  • salt as per taste

How to make Shahi Mutton Korma

  1. Clean and wash mutton pieces.
  2. Marinate with 1/2 tbsp garlic paste, 1/4 tbsp ginger paste and 1/4 cup yogurt for 30 minutes.
  3. Take a thick bottomed pan and heat ghee. Fry cinnamon, clove, cardamom and mace. Add sliced onions and fry till light golden in colour. Add ginger and garlic paste. Saute till a fried smell comes.
  4. Add marinated mutton and saute for 5 minutes on medium heat. Lower the heat and add chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder and saute for 3 more minutes. Add yogurt, salt and water. Allow it to boil and cover with the lid till Mutton is done.
  5. Add Cashew paste, meat masala and simmer for another 5 minutes. Remove Shahi Mutton Korma from fire and garnish with boiled egg pieces and coriander leaves. Serve hot with pulav or naan.
