Sweet potato rolls with tangy tomato sauce

Ingredients to make Sweet potato rolls with tangy tomato sauce

  • 500 grams Sweet potatoes
  • 3 tablespoon desicated coconut
  • 3 tablespoon grounded sesame seeds
  • 1/2cup roasted sesame seeds
  • 1/2cup cashewnut powder
  • 1teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1teaspoon dried mango powder
  • 1teaspoon garam masala
  • 1teaspoon roasted cumin powder
  • 1teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1teaspoon black salt
  • salt to taste
  • 3 table spoon roasted gram flour
  • 1tablespoon cornflour
  • oil for frying
  • For tangy tomato sauce ....
  • 2 chopped tomato
  • 1tablespoon garlic
  • 1tablespoon onion
  • 1teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1teaspoon salt
  • 1teaspoon vinegar
  • 1teaspoon tomato sauce
  • 1teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1teaspoon chilli flakes
  • 1teaspoon Italian herbs
  • 1teaspoon oil

How to make Sweet potato rolls with tangy tomato sauce

  1. Peel and cut sweet potato in chunks
  2. Place in pressure cooker with 1 cup of water on high heat till 1 whistle.
  3. Take it out and drain all water
  4. Keep aside for cooling and mash thoroughly.
  5. Add all dry spices and desicated coconut , grounded cashew powder ,grounded sesame seeds together ,mix well .
  6. Now add cornflour and chick pea flour and make a soft dough .
  7. Grab a portion of the dough and form thick rolls.
  8. Keep aside for 5 minutes .
  9. Take roasted Sesame seeds on a plate .
  10. Roll sweet potato rolls over sesame seeds .
  11. Heat oil in a wok to fry rolls .
  12. Lower the heat to medium low .
  13. Fry rolls in small batches .Till golden brown and forms a nice crust .
  14. Drain out on the kitchen towel to absorb extra oil .
  15. For tangy sauce .
  16. Heat oil in a wok add garlic, saute for 1minute .
  17. Add onion, saute till pink and transulent .Add red chilli powder , black pepper and salt .
  18. Add chopped tomatoes in it .
  19. Cook till tomatoes are soft
  20. Add tomato sauce ,vinegar ,and worcestershire sauce
  21. Cook for 2 minutes till everything gets incorporated.
  22. Add italian herbs in it and chilli flakes , mix well and Keep aside for cooling .
  23. Assembling ....
  24. Place tangy tomato sauce on the serving plate and then place hot sweet potato rolls on it .
  25. Serve hot .
