About Bacon Jam Recipe

Crispy bacon with caramelized onions and a hit of bourbon.

Bacon Jam

Ingredients to make Bacon Jam

  • onion- 2
  • Bacon strips- 5
  • Brown sugar- 1tbsp
  • vinegar/ Balsamic vinegar- 1tbsp
  • Bourbon- 10ml
  • salt to taste
  • pepper- 1/2tbsp
  • garlic- 1 clove

How to make Bacon Jam

  1. Crisp up the bacon in the oven on a high temperature. Once crispy either chop it up or tear into small pieces.
  2. Take a pan and add the bacon fat and add finely chopped garlic.
  3. Add finely sliced onions and saute till golden brown.
  4. Add brown sugar and stir.
  5. Add balsamic vinegar or vinegar.
  6. Add the bourbon and let it evaporate + get absorbed.
  7. Adjust seasoning and serve with anything and everything. Mine is served with crispy parmesan and rosemary layered potatoes.
