About Pepper Rasam Recipe

This is a very healthy accompaniment for rice. We can also have it as like soup. Very yummy too.

Pepper Rasam

Ingredients to make Pepper Rasam

  • tamarind : a big lemon sized
  • tomato : 2
  • green chillies : 2
  • mustard seeds : 1 teaspoon
  • Turdal : 1 teaspoon
  • asafoetida : a lavish pinch
  • fenugreek : 1/2 teaspoon
  • red chilli : 1
  • curry leaves : 10
  • garlic : 15 pods
  • pepper corns : 2 tablespoons
  • cumin powder : 1 teaspoon
  • turmeric powder : 1/2 teaspoon
  • oil : 2 tablespoon
  • salt : to taste

How to make Pepper Rasam

  1. SOAK A LEMON SIZED TAMARIND IN WATER AND KEEP IT ASIDE. HEAT OIL IN A KADAAI AND ADD MUSTARD
  2. THEN ADD TURDAL, FENUGREEK, ASAFOETIDA, RED CHILLIES AND CURRY LEAVES
  3. THEN ADD CRUSHED PEPPER CORNS AND GARLIC AND SAUTE WELL
  4. ADD TAMARIND WATER AND TOMATO WITH THE SEASONING
  5. ADD 1/2 TEASPOON OF TURMERIC POWDER & 1 TEASPOON OF CUMIN POWDER
  6. ADD SALT TO YOUR TASTE AND MIX WELL
  7. THE RASAM SHOULD NOT BOIL MORE. SWITCH OFF THR FLAME AT THIS SLIGHTLY BOILING STAGE
