Very tasty and popular recipe from Kanpur but my grandmother's Speciality

Bhakose

Ingredients to make Bhakose

  • Soaked chana daal 1/2 cup
  • Whole wheat flour 1 cup
  • salt to taste
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Kitchen king masala 1 tsp
  • Garam masala 1/2 tsp
  • cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
  • asafoetida 1/2 tsp
  • Carom seeds 1/2 tsp
  • Raw mango powder 1/2 tsp
  • Fresh coriander leaves
  • onion Slices 1 Medium
  • oil 1/4 cup

How to make Bhakose

  1. ADD 1/2 CUP SOAKED CHANA DAAL(BENGAL GRAM) IN A BLENDER.BLEND COARSELY
  2. ADD 1 TSP OLIVE OIL
  3. 1/2 TSP ASAFOETIDA (HEENG),1/2 TSP CUMIN SEEDS (JEERA)
  4. ADD CHANA DAAL PASTE
  5. QUICKLY ADD 1/2 TSP TURMERIC POWDER,1/2 TSP CORIANDER POWDER
  6. ADD 1/2 TSP RED CHILLI POWDER,1/2 TSP GARAM MASALA
  7. MIX WELL FOR 1-2 MINUTES ON LOW FLAME
  8. AFTER 1 MINUTE TAKE OUT IN A BOWL
  9. ADD 1/2 TSP SALT OR TO TASTE
  10. ADD 1/2 TSP CAROM SEEDS,1/2 TSP SALT IN 1 CUP WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR.KNEAD A DOUGH
  11. LET IT REST FOR 5 MINUTES
  12. TAKE SOME PART OF DOUGH AND ROLL OUT
  13. FILL SOME DAAL MIXTURE.COVER & PRESS THE EDGES
  14. LET IT BOIL IN HOT BOILING WATER UPTO 5-7 MINUTES
  15. KEEP STIR BETWEEN
  16. TAKE OUT IN A PLATE
  17. LET IT COOL FOR 4-5 MINUTES
  18. CUT THE PIECES ACCORDING TO YOUR SIZE
  19. BHAKOSE ARE READY..YOU CAN STORE IN REFRIGERATOR UPTO 1-2 DAYS
  20. ADD 2 TBS OIL
  21. ADD 1 TSP MUSTURD SEEDS
  22. ONION SLICES (1 MEDIUM).SAUTE FOR 2 MINUTES
  23. ADD 1/2 TSP TURMERIC POWDER
  24. 1/2 TSP CORIANDER POWDER,1 TSP KITCHEN KING MASALA,1/2 TSP RAW MANGO POWDER,1/2 TSP RED CHILLI POWDE
  25. MIX WELL & ADD BHAKOSE
  26. ADD SALT TO TASTE & FRY FOR 3-4 MINUTES
  27. SWITCH OFF THE GAS AND ADD FRESH CORIANDER LEAVES
