Palak Chicken

Ingredients to make Palak Chicken

  • chicken 500gms
  • onion 1 big
  • ginger 1 inch
  • garlic 15 cloves
  • cashew 7-8
  • poppy seeds 1 tsp
  • watermelon seeds 1 tsp
  • cream 1/2 cup
  • spinach cooked and blanched and grinded to a paste 1 cup
  • tomato purée 1 cup
  • cardamom 2
  • cinnamon stick 1
  • clove 2
  • turmeric powder
  • red chilli powder
  • salt
  • ghee 2 tbsp

How to make Palak Chicken

  1. wash chicken properly
  2. heat a pan...add ghee...add onion ginger garlic paste and sauté
  3. add turmeric powder,red chilli powder,salt and mix well
  4. add chicken and mix well..cook covered for 5-7 mins
  5. add tomato purée and mix well..cover again for 5-6 mins stirring in between
  6. when chicken is half cooked add cashew,watermelon seeds and poppy seeds paste and mix well
  7. cook it again for 5 mins
  8. when oil starts to separate add palak purée and mix well
  9. if u want add a little water to it
  10. add cardamom,cinnamon and clove powder...cook it for another 5 mins
  11. till everything mixes well and cooked
  12. add fresh cream and mix well
  13. serve hot with naan or roti
