Methi matar malai

Ingredients to make Methi matar malai

  • 1 bunch of fresh methi
  • 1 tbsp oil for cooking
  • 1 cup matar (green peas)
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 3 tbsp fresh cream

How to make Methi matar malai

  1. Clean and wash the methi leaves nicely, then chop it well.
  2. Take a kadai, add oil to heat, when the oil is nicely warm add the ginger-garlic paste.
  3. Saute for half a minute, then add the chopped methi leaves and fresh green peas together. Mix it well.
  4. Now add the salt, mix it well and cover the kadai. Cook on a slow flame till the peas are done and the water dries up.
  5. Once the water is dried and the peas are cooked add the fresh cream to it mix well and turn off the flame. (You can add low fat cream as well)
  6. Serve it warm.

My Tip:

Use skimmed milk cream if you want to cut the calories of full fat. Cream paneer can also be added to this.
