Fingermillet Masala Paniyaram (Ragi Kuzhipaniyaram)

Ingredients to make Fingermillet Masala Paniyaram (Ragi Kuzhipaniyaram)

  • 3 cups - Ragi batter
  • Masala Ingredients:
  • 1 Onion (chopped)
  • 1 Green chilli (chopped)
  • 2 tablespoon - Grated coconut
  • Few Curry leaves (chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon - Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon - Urad dal
  • 1/4 teaspoon - Asafoetida powder
  • Oil as required

How to make Fingermillet Masala Paniyaram (Ragi Kuzhipaniyaram)

  1. Take a kadai/pan and heat the oil, next add in the mustard seeds, urad dal, asafoetida powder and chopped curry leaves and let them pop.
  2. Put in the chopped onion, grated coconut, curry leaves and let it cook for some time.
  3. Add this hot mixture to the Ragi batter and blend everything well together.
  4. Take the kuzhi Paniyaram pan and heat it on medium flame, then pour a few drops of oil.
  5. Carefully pour in the batter using a small ladle, make sure that the flame is low then let it simmer and cook at a low flame.
  6. Remember to turn the batter on both sides so that they are properly cooked.
  7. Note that this dish should not be cooked on a high flame.
  8. Once it is ready, serve it hot!
My Tip: Do not hesitate to add whole grains, your kids can have a healthy and protein filled diet with this ingredient.
