About Aate ka halwa/ kada prashad Recipe

The famous sweet from punjab, served as prasad in sacred Gurudwaras, made with wheat flour and loads of ghee.

Aate ka halwa/ kada prashad

Ingredients to make Aate ka halwa/ kada prashad

  • Aata (wheat flour) - 1/2 cup
  • ghee - 1/2 cup
  • sugar - 1/2 cup
  • water - 1 cup
  • cardamom (crushed) - 1/8 th tsp
  • Chopped cashewnuts/almonds (for garnishing) - 1 tbsp

How to make Aate ka halwa/ kada prashad

  1. Dissolve the sugar with water in a hot pan, add the the CARDAMOM, keep aside.
  2. Heat a heavy bottomed pan with ghee. Add the aata and roast till it smells and browns.
  3. Then add the sugar syrup into the above and stir. Cook till it leaves ghee on the sides. Serve.
  4. P.S : kadaprashad or aate ka halwa originally does have CARDAMOM but I added it for extra flavour.
