ABOUT (Banana flower) Valaipoo kola urundai RECIPE

Its banana flower snack. Chettinadu style. Tastes good. Can be accompanied with varitey rice bowl.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Banana flower 1 cup
  2. Grated Coconut 1/2 cup
  3. Fried gram dal 1/2 cup
  4. Dry red chilly 5 nos
  5. Fennel 1/2 tbsp
  6. Cinnamon 1 inch
  7. Shallots 1/4 cup
  8. Ginger garlic paste 2tbsp
  9. Curry leaves few
  10. Oil 1/2 cup
  11. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Remove the center stem fr banana flower and chop well. Soak it in bowl of water.
  2. In a mixer take shallots coconut fennel ginger garlic paste dry red chilly cinnamon and banana flower. Squeez and drain the water from banana flower and add it.
  3. Grind well till every thing mix well. Take it in a bowl
  4. Powder the fried gram dal into powder
  5. To the banana flower mixture add curry leaves salt and powdered fried gram dal and mix well.
  6. Make it small tight balls. If its too soft add little more fried gram dal powder.
  7. Heat oil in medium flame and fry these balls till you get brown colour.
  8. Serve hot.
