I tasted this dish first time and my hubby's place made by my mom in law. This dish had whole lot of goodness of coconut and amazing aroma of cumin seeds with tadka of Redchillies

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Amarnath leaves- 2 bunch chopped finely
  2. Turmeric powder- 1tsp
  3. Salt as per your taste
  4. Water- 1/2 cup
  5. For grinding paste
  6. Coconut- 1 small cup
  7. Cumin seeds- 11/2 tsp
  8. Madras onion- 4 nos
  9. For tempering
  10. Coconut oi- 1 tbsp
  11. Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
  12. Red chillies- 2 nos
  13. Curry leaves- few sprigs
  14. Pinch of turmeric

Instructions

  1. Cook Amarnath leaves in deep pot adding salt, turmeric and water for 10 mins or until leaves are well cooked
  2. Mean while grind coconut, cumin seeds and madras onion to fine paste
  3. Now check if leaves are cooked properly, add ground paste and just cook for 1 min. Do not boil too much after adding coconut paste.
  4. Remove from stove and set aside.
  5. Now for tempering heat coconut oil add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter, add curry leaves and Red chillies fry for 1 min and add turmeric powder mix well and pour this tempering on leaves curry
  6. Serve this with steam rice.
