ABOUT Steamed Egg Makhani- Punjab da Tadka RECIPE

Makhani is a Hindustani word meaning "with butter". It is used in the names of several dishes from Punjabi cuisine. Egg Makhani is a very rich gravy with cashew, onion tomato and cream based. Inspired this dish from Paneer Makhani and tried with steamed Egg, which itself gives a look like paneer in serving platter...Try this amazing Makhani for your family...Trust me no one would guess this is egg recipe

Ingredients Serving: 20

  1. Egg- 2nos
  2. For ground masala
  3. Onion 2 nos- chopped roughly
  4. Tomato- 1 big size- chopped roughly
  5. Green chilly-1 no
  6. Cashew- 5-6 nos
  7. Salt - 1/2 tsp
  8. Butter- 1 cube
  9. For Steaming Egg
  10. Egg-2 nos
  11. chilly powder- 1tsp
  12. Salt- 1/2 tsp
  13. for dry masala
  14. Turmeric Powder- 1 tsp
  15. Chilly powder- 2 tsp
  16. Coriander powder- 1 tbsp
  17. Garam masala- 1 tsp
  18. Coriander leaves for garnishing
  19. kasuri methi for garnishing
  20. Fresh cream for Garnishing as well as for gravy

Instructions

  1. Keep all ingredients ready
  2. Take a bowl and break egg whisk well with the help of fork, add chilly powder and salt and mix well.
  3. Now Steam this egg in steamer or any vessels which is comfortable for you until it looks like steam cake.
  4. Once its steam properly it will look like cake,below is the pic for your reference. Check with knife if that doesn't stick to knife it means its done to cut in to pieces
  5. Now cut steam egg in to pieces, this will exactly look like paneer and this doesn't have smell or taste of egg in this form. Set this aside.
  6. Now lets heat little butter add onion, green chilly, cashew ,tomato and salt. Cook until tomato turns mushy
  7. Cool this fried onion masala and ground to fine paste
  8. Now heat butter in another pan and add ground masala and fry well for 6-7 mins in medium flame adding little water
  9. Now add dry masala turmeric powder, chilly powder,coriander powder,garam masala and salt if required, fry well until masala start oozing oil from the side
  10. Once masala is cooked properly add coriander leaves and fenugreek leaves and give a qucik mix, add little fresh cream and mix nicely
  11. Now add steam egg pieces and mix nicely.
  12. switch off the flame and garnish with fresh cream
  13. Serve hot with phulka
