Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 500 gms roughly cut potatoes
  2. 100 gms green peas
  3. 500 gms chopped tomatoes
  4. Salt to taste
  5. For masala ------
  6. Butter 5 tbsp
  7. Oil 2 tbsp
  8. Finely chopped onion 200 gm
  9. Jeera 1/2 tsp
  10. Pav bhaji masala 3 tbsp
  11. Ginger-garlic paste 1 tbsp
  12. Chopped capsicum 1
  13. Garam masala 1 tsp
  14. Salt to taste
  15. Red edible colour (optional)
  16. Water as required
  17. For assembly:
  18. Few lemon wedges
  19. 1/4 cup chopped onion
  20. 1 tsp butter
  21. A pinch of chopped coriander
  22. Ladipav to serve

Instructions

  1. In a pan, add the potatoes, peas, tomatoes, water and and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes. Mash the whole mixture properly and add it with a little bit of water.
  2. In a pan, add butter, onions, cumin seeds, garlic paste and pav bhaji masala. Mix it all well together.
  3. Add the capsicum, turmeric and garam masala, then add the mashed pulp into the pan and mix it nicely and evenly. Add red food color (it's optional).
  4. To adjust the consistency add water and keep it on a low simmer.
  5. Apply butter on the pav and toast them on a pan.
  6. Pav Bhaji is ready to be served!
