Khirasaku

Ingredients to make Khirasaku

  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp chopped dry fruits
  • Ghee to coat the frying pan

How to make Khirasaku

  1. Soak the rice for 3 hours. Grind this to a smooth paste by adding little water.
  2. Now boil the milk, when it starts boiling add the sugar and chopped dry fruits.
  3. Pour the rice batter into this and stir it simultaneously. Stir it so that it will become a sticky dough like consistency.
  4. Now coat a frying pan with little ghee and set the dough on it.
  5. Cover the frying pan and cook it on a low flame for 20 mins.
  6. When the saku (cake) turns golden brown color from the edges, it's almost done.
  7. Let it cool down by turning it upside down on a plate.
  8. Your sweet dish is ready! Try some different sweet this time.

My Tip:

While grinding the rice make sure you add a little water, it should be like that of vada batter consistency. After adding the rice batter to the milk mixture, stir till it becomes a dough type consistency, otherwise when you put this for cooking in a frying pan it starts to splutter and does not cook evenly.
