The use of vegetables and mild spices in such unique ways is an art to learn. Gujarati cuisine is an excellent blend of flavors where sweet notes dominate most dishes. It is the perfect combination of sweet and sour flavors. Some of the Gujarati dishes are stir fried, while others are boiled. Gujarati food is more often served on a silver platter. Gujarati’s use a combination of different spices and flavors to cook their meals and this is what makes their food truly exotic. People in Gujarat eat one or the other type of curry along with rice and roti in almost every meal. Gujarati dishes usually have a very subtle taste that makes it truly distinct from other Indian cuisines. Most of the Gujarati dishes are sweet, while others have a quite larger concentration of sugar as compared to salt and spices. The prominence of ingredients like besan or gram flour, lentils, sesame seedsand yogurt is another feature that sets Gujarati dishes apart. Some Gujarati recipes that can be tried out are Thepla, Three Layered Sandwich Dhokla, Gujarati Farsi Puri, Dal Dhokli, Meethi Muthiya, Buff Vada etc. Malpuas are one of the most delicious desserts of Gujarat to be enjoyed during festive occasions.
