Keep potatoes, onions, and tomatoes in a cool, dry place, but not in the fridge. The cold will ruin their flavor. Store unripe fruits and veggies like pears, peaches, mangoes, apricots, avocados, melons, and bananas in a dry place. Once they're ripe, move them to the fridge. Banana peels will turn dark brown, but it won't affect the flesh. Store fresh herbs in bags filled with a little air and sealed tightly.
@Alisha dogra tomatoes should be stored in the fridge, onions and potatoes in a cool, dry place.

Keep onion and potato separate. Tomato in fridge. I always wash and store my vegetables in the refrigerator. Greens I wrap in a muslin cloth. If any particular vegetables do let me know.
