Chocolate Gelato

Ingredients to make Chocolate Gelato

  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1/3 cup Cream
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 cup Cocoa powder
  • 50g Bittersweet chocolate chopped
  • 5 Egg yolks
  • 1 tbsp coffee powder
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • A few fresh Mint leaves

How to make Chocolate Gelato

  1. Heat milk, cream and 1/2 cup sugar in a saucepan and stir until sugar dissolves completely.
  2. Add chocolate,coffee and cocoa powder and whisk until it becomes a smooth mixture.
  3. Beat the egg yolks and remaining sugar until it becomes a thick mixture.
  4. Pour in the chocolate mixture a little at a time and blend well.
  5. Now return this into the saucepan and bring it to boil, stirring constantly.
  6. Pour this into a covered bowl and freeze for 4 hours.
  7. Sprinkle some shaved chocolate on top and take out of freezer 10 minutes before serving.
  8. Garnish with fresh mint leaves.
