ABOUT Surprise Buns/ Protein buns RECIPE

Children love surprises . Mommies , we love to cook and feed them something healthy . These surprise buns carry soya and eggs . An easy to make , quick snack with the leftover buns . I prepared this recently for my daughter . She enjoyed this tiny surprise . Replace buns with multigrain buns or homemade wheat buns to make it even more healthier .

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Buns 4
  2. Boiled eggs 2,
  3. Soya nuggets 20 pieces
  4. Onion 1 finely chopped
  5. Salt 1/4 teaspoon
  6. Ginger garlic paste 1/4 teaspoon
  7. Garam Masala Powder 1/2 teaspoon
  8. Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
  9. Chilli powder 1/4 teaspoon
  10. Cilantros chopped 3 tablespoons
  11. Eggs 2
  12. Butter 1 .5 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Firstly , soak soya nuggets in warm water for 5 minutes till they turn soft and doubles in size .
  2. Squeeze ,drain and chop the nuggets to fine pieces .
  3. Heat a teaspoon butter in a pan .
  4. Add chopped onions and sauté till translucent.
  5. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté till raw smell leaves.
  6. Add the soya chunk pieces .
  7. Add turmeric powder .
  8. Add salt .
  9. Add garam masala powder .
  10. Add chilli powder .
  11. Adjust spice levels accordingly.
  12. Sprinkle little water .
  13. Mix and slow roast .
  14. Switch off the heat .
  15. Garnish with chopped cilantros.
  16. Let the mixture cool .
  17. Now take the boiled eggs .
  18. Halve the boiled eggs into two .
  19. Take the buns .
  20. Turn the buns upside down .
  21. Make a square like gentle cut on the bun without disturbing the other side . Scoop out the bun portion out to create space for the stuffings .
  22. Take one teaspoon soya filling and stuff inside the bun .
  23. Stuff in a halved egg .
  24. Now close the area with the detached piece .
  25. Take egg mixture in a bowl . Seal and coat the buns with this egg mixture .
  26. Melt a tablespoon of butter in a pan .
  27. Place the surprise buns and fry both the sides .
  28. Cut the buns into two pieces and serve hot .
  29. Protein packed Surprise buns ready .
