Gojju Avalakki also popularly known as Huli Avalakki is a Karnataka vegetarian breakfast dish this is prepared with thick poha.

Recipe Ingredients

  • Thick Poha 2 cup
  • Tamarind juice 1 cup
  • Jaggry 1 tbsp
  • Grated coconut 2 tsp
  • Rasam powder 4 tsp
  • Haldi 1/4 sp
  • Peanut 2 tbsp
  • Chana daal 2 tsp
  • Urad daal 2 tsp
  • Mustered seeds 1/4 sp
  • Curry leaves 2tsp
  • Red chilies 3
  • Salt
  • Oil 3 tbsp

Recipe Preparation

  1. Grind poha to a fine course powder and keep it aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan add mustered seeds,chana daal,urad daal,peanuts fry till daal turned to golden brown in color then add curry leave, haldi and coconut fry and keep it aside.
  3. Heat oil in another pan add red chilli,curry leave, tamarind juice,1 cup water,salt, jaggry,4 sp rasam power (as per your taste like how much spice u need)you can taste the mixture as a whole. You can adjust the taste as per your requirement for salt ,spice and sweet.once it's started boil add grounded poha , mix well and add above seasoning and mix everything well and serve hot.
