Ingredients to make Multi Grain Ladoo

  • Thinai/Foxtail millet – 3 tbsp
  • Kambu/Pearl millet – 3 tbsp
  • Ragi/Finger millet – 3 tbsp
  • Varagu/Kodo millet – 3 tbsp
  • Saamai/Little millet – 3 tbsp
  • Moong dal (green gram) – 2 tbsp
  • Pottukadalai or channa dal (bengal gram) - 3 tbsp
  • peanuts - 2 tbsp
  • Aval/Flattened rice - 3 tbsp
  • Castor sugar – 1/4 cup
  • cardamom – 4 crushed
  • Melted ghee – 1/4 cup (adjust according to quantity used)

How to make Multi Grain Ladoo

  1. Take a wide sauce pan and add fox tail millet, pearl millet, finger millet, kodo millet, little millet, chana dal, moong dal, aval, and peanuts. Dry roast these until fragrant.
  2. Remove onto a plate and leave these to cool completely. Upon cooling grind to fine powder and take this into a bowl and add sugar and cardamom powder.
  3. Melt ghee and set aside to cool lightly. Slowly pour in warm melted ghee and knead lightly. When the mixture is cool enough to handle, shape them into ladoo’s.
  4. You can store them in air tight container.

My Tip:

You can also add nuts while adding sugar, to this give the ladoos a crunch..
