Evergreen Daal

Ingredients to make Evergreen Daal

  • Mixed daal (tarka, moong, musuri, chole) 100gm
  • Mustard oil
  • Chopped tomato 1 medium sized
  • Chopped onion 1 large sized
  • cumin powder 1 tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds 1/2 tablespoon
  • Garam masala 2 tablespoons
  • Kasoori methi 2 tablespoons
  • Green chili paste 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic paste 1 tablespoon
  • ginger paste 1/2 tablespoon
  • Coriander leaves
  • Salt
  • sugar

How to make Evergreen Daal

  1. Boil the dal in a pressure cooker adding salt.
  2. Heat some mustard oil in a pan and add the cumin seeds.
  3. Fry onions into it till it becomes golden brown.
  4. Add the chopped tomato and fry it further.
  5. Next add the ginger, garlic and green chili paste, cumin powder and sugar and salt to it and cook for a few minutes.
  6. Take the boiled daal and add it into the fan. Stir thoroughly before adding Kasoori methi and Garam Masala.
  7. Add water and boil it for 10-15 minutes.
  8. Put some coriander leaves on top and serve hot with roti/paratha.
My Tip: Add a dash of garam masala on top before serving.
