Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Moong daal 1 cup
  2. Oil 2 tsp
  3. Cumin seeds 1 tsp
  4. Garlic ginger chilli paste 2 tsp
  5. Turmeric powder 1 tsp
  6. Red chilli powder 2 tsp
  7. Gram flour 1 cup
  8. Coriander leaves 1 cup
  9. salt as per taste
  10. Garam masala 1 tsp
  11. Lemon juice 1tsp
  12. Asafoedia 1 pinch
  13. For the Dough
  14. Wheat flour 2 cups
  15. Oil 2 tsp
  16. Salt 1/2 tsp
  17. Black sesame seeds 1 tsp
  18. Butter 2 tsp
  19. Water to knead the dough
  20. Bujiya sev 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Firstly I had prepared daal for dinner and had too much of daal left so just dried the daal by evaporating all the excess moisture and added grinded bhujiya sev to bind the daal with chapati...
  2. Let's make daal...
  3. Soak moong daal for 2 hrs
  4. Heat oil in a wok..Add cumin seeds and wait till it is brown
  5. Now add asafoedia,turmeric and daal and cook for few min
  6. Now add ginger garlic chilli paste,red chilli paste,garam masala,coriander powder and mix well
  7. Add 2 cups of water and boil for 10 min till daal becomes tender
  8. Now add gram flour in it stirring continuously to absorb extra water..
  9. Add salt as per taste
  10. Finally add chopped coriander leaves and off the gas..
  11. Serve hot
  12. But I had leftover daal so tried making daal parata...
  13. For the dough...Take flour,oil and salt and mix well in mixing bowl..
  14. Add water and form a soft dough..Cover for 30 min
  15. Roll round chapatis...Stuff it with leftover daal in the between...Add little bujiya sev and enclose it by forming a potli...
  16. Now roll or dap with your fingers to make round thick chapatis..
  17. Spread black sesame seeds on the top..
  18. Roast on hot tawa with butter on both sides...
  19. Serve with chutneys,raitas,salad..
