Palak Kala Chana Tikki

Ingredients to make Palak Kala Chana Tikki

  • 2 cups Kala Chana
  • 1 bunch spinach
  • 3-4 Green Chilies
  • 3/4" ginger
  • 5-6 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • Breadcrumbs as needed
  • Cheese cubes (optional)
  • Salt to taste

How to make Palak Kala Chana Tikki

  1. Soak Kala Chana overnight. Drain the water and boil in cooker till just soft and not mushy.
  2. Wash, drain and blanch spinach. Squeeze out excess water.
  3. Grind green chilies, ginger and garlic along with spinach.
  4. Add Chana to spinach along with salt, garam masala, and chaat masala and coarsely grind in processor.
  5. Mix breadcrumbs and refrigerate for 15-20 mins or until firm.
  6. Cut cheese in small cubes . Make Tikki shape with cheese stuffed in it and shallow fry both sides (Tikki will be tender so handle with care).
