Ingredients to make Gol papdi

  • 1 cup whole wheatflour
  • 5tbsp ghee
  • 1tsp ghee for greasing
  • 1tsp poppy seeds/khaskhas
  • 1tsp crushed cardmoms
  • 1tbsp sliverd alomnds and pistachios
  • 3/4cup grated jaggery

How to make Gol papdi

  1. First grease the thali with ghee, sprinkle khaskhas set it aside.
  2. Heat 5 tbsp of ghee in a heavy bottom wok and roast wheat flour for 20 to 25 mins or till nice aroma of roasted flour starts to come on medium to low flame.
  3. May be it takes 1/2an hour for roasting.
  4. Turn off the flame immediately and let it cool slightly.
  5. Then add jaggery with cardmoms, mix nicely.
  6. Transfer the flour mixture to greased thali .
  7. Spread with hands and tap with the back of a bowl /katori.
  8. Spread slivered nuts.
  9. Let it cool.
  10. Cut it in dimond shape or of your choice.
  11. Keep in an air tight jar.

My Tip:

When flour is brown and roasted, immediately off the gas.
