ABOUT Palak Idiappam !! RECIPE

An healthy and easy recipe from South... Here I have tried making it like a nest ...and the yellow balls are fried paneer balls...as eggs...

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Rice flour - 4 heaped spoons
  2. Water- 1 & half cup
  3. Palak puree- 2 tbspn
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Oil - 1 tspn
  6. Freshly grated coconut - 1 cup
  7. _________________________
  8. For the paneer balls(optional)
  9. Paneer- 50 gms
  10. Turmeric powder- 2 pinches
  11. Red chilly powder - to taste
  12. Garam masala - 2 pinches
  13. Jeera powder- 2 pinches
  14. Salt to taste
  15. Ghee - 1 tspn

Instructions

  1. For making the idiappam first boil the water...
  2. Add salt and oil in it...
  3. Then add the rice flour in it....Mix well and close it with a lid...keep it aside for five minutes
  4. In the meantime blend the palak leaves in a mixer...And later strain it and keep aside
  5. Now pour this in the rice flour bowl and knead it well to a smooth dough....
  6. Grease the idli plates and put little coconut in each...
  7. Now grease the idiappam press and fill it with the dough
  8. Then press the dough through it...On the idli plates with coconut
  9. Top it again with some coconut....
  10. Steam it for eight to ten minutes ...
  11. Serve with curry or chutney of your choice...
  12. Here I have just mashed some paneer...Added spices and stir fried it in some ghee... And served on top ....To make it look like eggs....This is optional ..
