Ingredients to make Maaladu / Pottukadalai Ladoo / Roasted Gram Ladoo

  • 1 cup Roasted gram / chutney dal
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp clarified butter / ghee
  • 2 cardamom
  • 6 cashews

How to make Maaladu / Pottukadalai Ladoo / Roasted Gram Ladoo

  1. Dry roast the roasted gram on a low flame for 2-3 minutes and let it cool. Don't over roast.
  2. Grind it in a mixer to a powder and sieve it.
  3. Powder the sugar, cardamom and sieve it.
  4. Chop the cashews and fry it in little ghee.
  5. In a wide bowl or plate take the sieved , gram flour ,sugar ,fried cashews and mix .
  6. Heat the ghee and pour it over the flour mix and mix well with spatula.
  7. Make ladoos( round small lemon size balls) while its still warm and arrange it in a plate.
  8. Once cooled store it in air tight container.
