My third entry ...This is my most favorite curry which my mother inlaw cooks for us.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Moong dal 3/4cup
  2. ginger garlic paste 1/2tsp +1tsp
  3. turmeric powder 1/2tsp
  4. Red chilli 2tsp
  5. onion 1 big
  6. tomatoes big 3
  7. Bottle gourd cut in big chunks 2cups
  8. Fresh coconut 1cup chopped
  9. Garam masala 1/4tsp
  10. coriander powder 1tsp
  11. eggs 6
  12. oil 6 tbp
  13. coriander leaves 1tbp chop
  14. salt
  15. water as required


  1. In cooker roast moongdal for 2mints then add 1 and a half cups of water and half chopped onion give 6 whistles, switch off the flame, let the pressure drop.
  2. Blend coconut, tomatoes and coriander powder nicely.
  3. Open the cooker and switch on high flam, add coconut and tomatoes paste , turmeric powder, 1/2tsp of ginger garlic paste , red chilli powder, coriander leaves, bottle gourd,salt, garam masala powder and 2 glasses of water.Let it cook for 15 minutes keep stirring in between else it will get burnt from the bottom.
  4. Now for tempering :in big open vessel add oil fry onion and 1tsp ginger garlic paste till light brown, add the moong dal curry when it comes to boil,slow the flame and crack one egg and slowly add in boiling curry, keep adding all eggs one by one.
  5. Close the lid and cook for 10 minutes.
  6. Serve with rice or roti.
