Ingredients to make Bread pudding

  • Brown bread 4-5 slices
  • Milk 1 1/2 cup
  • sugar 2 spoon
  • cornflour 1 spoon

How to make Bread pudding

  1. Chop bread pieces into cubes.
  2. In a pan take milk add sugar and cornflour
  3. Keep the pan on low flame and stir so that the sugar dissolves.
  4. Heat the milk on low flame no need to boil.
  5. Once the milk has become hot remove the pan and add bread pieces.
  6. Mash very well with the spatula.
  7. The bread crumbs need to be mashed finely.
  8. Add 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract and stir.
  9. Now in another pan spoon the bread milk mixture .
  10. Cover with an aluminium foil and poke holes with a toothpick in the foil.
  11. Boil required amount of water in a broad pan in which the pudding pan can easily fit.
  12. The amount of water to be added depend on the size of the pan.
  13. Place the pudding pan carefully in pan.
  14. Cover with a lid.
  15. Steam for 25-30 minutes till the pudding is set.
  16. Then you will have to refrigetate the pudding for couple of hours and then unmould.
  17. You can even serve this pudding once its cool down at room temperature.

My Tip:

You can caramelize the pudding or serve with chocolate sauce.

Dessert is great however the sugar quantity should be as per the person's taste, since 2 spoons is making it a a very low sweetened dessert. Best fit for diabetics.
