ABOUT Soya Manchurian Quiche RECIPE

The name says it all . Indo Chinese Soya Manchurian + French quiche fusion . Was super excited to try this combination , Spicy cheesy flaky quiche for a surprise dinner party

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. For the quiche dough :
  2. Wheat flour 3 cups
  3. Large egg 1
  4. Salt 1/4 teaspoon
  5. Unsalted cold butter 2 cups
  6. Ice cold water 1/4 cup or as required
  7. For the Soya Manchurian ( semi dry ) :
  8. Soya nuggets 30
  9. For marination :
  10. Ginger garlic paste 1 tablespoons
  11. Red chilli powder 3 teaspoons
  12. Cumin powder 2 teaspoon
  13. Salt 1 teaspoon
  14. Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
  15. Lime juice 1 tablespoon
  16. Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
  17. All purpose flour 3 tablespoons
  18. Corn flour 2 Tablespoons
  19. Water 2 to 3 tablespoons
  20. For the gravy :
  21. Onions big 3 finely chopped
  22. Green bell pepper 1 medium sized diced
  23. Spring onions white bulbs sliced 2 tablespoons
  24. Green onions chopped fistful
  25. Green chillies 2 slit
  26. Soya sauce 2 tablespoons
  27. Tomato ketchup 1 cup
  28. Vinegar 1 tablespoon
  29. Corn slury 1/2 cup
  30. Salt 1/4 teaspoon
  31. Water 1/4 cup
  32. Oil 3 tablespoons
  33. Garlic finely chopped 2 tablespoons
  34. Other :
  35. Cooking oil for frying
  36. Mozzarella cheese 1 cup
  37. Mayonnaise veg 1/4 cup
  38. Italian seasonings as prefered
  39. Red chilli flakes 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Make a dough with flour , salt , cold butter , egg and cold water . Add water gradually only if required .
  2. Cling wrap the dough . Refrigerate the dough for 15 minutes or for hours when not in hurry .
  3. Meantime lets prepare soya manchurian .
  4. Soak soya nuggets in hot boiling water for 10 minutes .
  5. Squeeze the nuggets and use the squeezed ones .
  6. Marinate soya with the ingredients lister under marination . Marinate for 10 minutes.
  7. Then shallow fry marinated soya until golden brown.
  8. For the manchurian gravy,
  9. Heat 3 tablespoons oil in a pan .
  10. Saute garlic .
  11. Add onions and saute until translucent.
  12. Add spring onion bulbs sliced , capsicum . Saute until crunchy.
  13. Add salt .
  14. Add tomato ketchup.
  15. Add soy sauce .
  16. Add green chillies slit as preferred.
  17. Add water . Add corn slury .
  18. Add vinegar.
  19. Cook the gravy for 2 minutes.
  20. Add the fried soya nuggets .
  21. Mix and allow nuggets to immerse in Manchurian gravy .
  22. Switch off when semi dry consistency achieved.
  23. Sprinkle spring onions chopped .
  24. Soya manchurian ready.
  25. Preheat cooker / oven in high for 10 minutes.
  26. Roll the chilled dough into a medium thickness sheet .
  27. Take a greased quiche / pie pan.
  28. Place the sheet in the quiche and trim extras that hang out from the tin.
  29. Prick the base with fork .
  30. Put some chickpeas to add weight .
  31. Bake the quiche for 10 minutes.
  32. Remove the weight .
  33. Fill the quiche with soya manchurian.
  34. Then add generous mozzarella cheese .
  35. Add veg mayonnaise as prefered as next layer.
  36. Add italian seasonings.
  37. Add red chilli flakes .
  38. Bake in high for 15 minutes or until quiche looks flaky , golden with light brown crusts . By the time the filling gets baked as well .
  39. Soya Manchurian Quiche is ready.
  40. Slice the hot quiche like pizza and serve.
