Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 kg ratalu - fresh
  2. 100 g peanuts
  3. 250 g Tuvar lilva (Pigeon peas)
  4. 2 tbsp ginger paste
  5. 1 tsp green chilli paste
  6. 3 tbsp grated coconut
  7. 1/4 cup fresh corriander
  8. 1tspn red chilli powder
  9. 1 tsp termeric
  10. 3tsp sea sesame seeds
  11. 1/2tsp sugar

Instructions

  1. Clean ratalu by peeling its outer skin. Slice ratalu in a way that it comes out circular cross section and make sure it is no more than 5 mm thick. Crush peanuts in a grinder but it has to be partly coarse. Keep it aside in a bowl.
  2. Crush lilva tuvar in a grinder but it has to partly coarse just like peanuts.
  3. Mix all masala in the bowl as well along with peanuts and tuvar lilva.
  4. Between two slices of ratalu, press the peanut lilva tuvar stuffing. To keep it tight use toothpick.
  5. Steam this ratalu sandwich in a steamer for 15 min. Serve it warm.
