ABOUT Butter Candies RECIPE

Delectable sweet butter crisp candies also known as Florentines with origins in Italy and is filled with tangy cherries and cranberries. A quick-to make-sweet for after lunch/dinner which will be irresistible for the kids or adults.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 3.5 tbsp butter
  2. 4.5 tbsp sugar
  3. 1 tbsp Plain Flour
  4. 1 tbsp heavy or full cream
  5. 1/8 cup dried cherries
  6. 1/8 cup dried cranberries
  7. 1/4 cup coarsely crushed pistachio
  8. 1 tbsp coarsely chopped almonds
  9. 2-3 tbsp Chocolate morsels if preferred

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven at 180 Deg C.
  2. Melt butter and sugar on low heat.
  3. Switch off gas, and add all nuts, berries, cream, and flour. Mix well.
  4. Line a baking tray with ovenproof parchment paper.
  5. Drop small teaspoons of mixture on the paper with at least 2 to 3 inches gap between them. Flatten them gently with spoon.
  6. Bake for 12 minutes or till crisp. Remove from oven and let them cool down completely. As the mixture will spread, candies can be broken down in pieces.
  7. Optional---Melt chocolate in microwave. Stir with wooden skewer to dissolve the lumps till smooth. Dip the candies in chocolate and leave it to rest for the chocolate to harden.
