ABOUT Rose Pumpkin Steamed Buns RECIPE

These steamed buns are absolutely 100% from northan China , although they're also not uncommon in Korea , Japan & Vietnam. Seamed Buns made with pumpkin flesh has a nice golden yellow colour . This steamed bun has mild sweet flavour with soft and fluffy texture.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  2. 100 gm pumpkin
  3. 2.
  4. 1 and 1/2 tspn yeast
  5. 1 spn caster suger
  6. 1/2 cup warm milk
  7. 3 .
  8. 2 cup plain flour
  9. 1 cup powder suger
  10. 1/2 cup milk powder
  11. 3 tblspn butter
  12. 1/2 tspn backing powder
  13. Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Skin peeled, cut into small pieces
  2. Micro for 10 mnts

  4. Blend the soften pumpkin to become puree
  5. Put the 1 and 1/2 tspn yeast into a bowl then add 1/2 cup warm milk and 1 tspn suger, stir to mix and set aside for 10 mnts to let the yeast activate
  6. Arranged the dry ingredients
  7. In a large bowl , sift flor , milk powder , salt , suger and butter
  8. Add pumpkin puree
  9. Then add yeast mixer . Mixing all the ingredients with a spatula. If the dough too wet add more flour
  10. knead with hand until soft and smooth
  11. When the dough is formed , place the dough in a lightly butter grease bowl.
  12. Cover with lid and let the dough rest for 30 - 40 mnts or till double size (depending on the room temperature)
  13. The dough should be double size after resting
  14. Flour the surface of kneading top and knead with hands for 8-10 mnts. Dough will become even more soft and smooth
  15. Dough getting smoother Until soft and smooth
  16. Cut into four portions
  17. Cover it
  18. Cut into 5 pieces with a bowl
  19. Arrange 5 in a line , overlapping one another and using a fork , press lightly at overlapping parts
  20. Roll up from 1 end
  21. Roll slightly
  22. Cut into equal halves
  23. Place rolls in a large bowl . cover and let rise for 20 - 30 mnts.
  24. Grease the steamer with butter
  25. Place the steamer
  26. Steam over high heat for 15 mnts
  27. Wait 3-5 mnts after turning off the heat to take out the buns
  28. Look at how fluffy and spongy that is Yum
