Ingredients to make Bharwa Karela healthy sweet

  • Small Karela 8
  • sesame seeds 2 tbsp roasted
  • water melon seeds 1 tsp, roasted
  • peanuts 2 tbsp, roasted
  • cashews 8
  • Fresh coconut grated 2 tbsp
  • fresh coriander 1/2 cup
  • tamarind small ball
  • Cumin + coriander seeds powder 1 tsp
  • 2 dates seedless
  • 10 raisins
  • salt 1 tsp
  • turmeric 1 tsp
  • red chilly powder 2 tsp

How to make Bharwa Karela healthy sweet

  1. Cut ends of Karelas and split them in the middle and remove the seeds.
  2. Boil karela in salted water till tender, drain and keep aside.
  3. For the masala take all dry ingredients like peanuts, coconut, cashews ,water melon seeds, sesame seeds, red chilly powder, garlic pods, salt, Dates, raisins, tamarind, cumin coriander powder , fresh coriander in a mixer and coarsely grind it.
  4. Stuff the Karelas, shallow fry in a wok till crisp.
  5. Garnish with fresh coriander and fresh grated coconut.
