Apple Kheer

Ingredients to make Apple Kheer

  • 2 large apples or 3 small apples
  • 1 liter of milk
  • 5 cups of sugar
  • 3 cardamoms
  • 4-5 almonds
  • 4-5 cashews
  • 4-5 pistachios
  • 4-5 raisins

How to make Apple Kheer

  1. To a wide non-stick pan, add the milk and turn the flame on high (I would recommend to use a wide pan so the milk doesn't spill and thickens faster. )
  2. Peel the apples and grate them (don't throw away the skin as you can use it for garnishing).
  3. Now add the grated apple to a wok and saute them till they change color. Keep stirring the milk in between, boil the milk and reduce it to half of it's quantity.
  4. As the apples change color, add sugar and saute again for 2 mins or till the sugar dissolves completely. Turn off the flame and remove the apples in a bowl.
  5. Chop all the dry fruits, then deseed them. Also make a powder form of the cardamoms.
  6. The milk will reduce by now, add in the apples, dry fruits and cardamoms. Mix it well together and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Garnish it with dry fruits and the apple peel.
