Pear and Cranberry chutney/relish

Ingredients to make Pear and Cranberry chutney/relish

  • 2 Pears
  • 350 gms Cranberries, washed and dried
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 2 tsp lemon zest
  • 2 tsp Fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • salt acc. to taste

How to make Pear and Cranberry chutney/relish

  1. Peel, core and chop pears.
  2. In a heavy pan, combine pears, cranberries, brown sugar, raisins, zest, fresh ginger, chilli flakes, onion, vinegar, mustard seeds and add salt according to taste.
  3. Cook for 20-30 minutes over low heat till thick.
  4. Transfer to clean, sterilized bottles.
  5. Store in the fridge but serve at room temperature.
