Chana Jor Garam

Ingredients to make Chana Jor Garam

  • Black chana or kala chana or black chickpeas about 2 cups soaked in enough water for about 6 hours.
  • salt to taste
  • onions 2 large, finely chopped
  • chana masala 1 tbsp
  • Pav bhaji masala 1 tsp
  • Black salt 1/4 tsp
  • asafoetida a pinch
  • Garam masala powder 1 tsp
  • green chillies finely chopped 2 tbsp
  • coriander finely chopped a small bunch
  • lemon juice 2 tbsp

How to make Chana Jor Garam

  1. Boil the chickpeas with some salt and keep aside. Do not overboil.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai
  3. Saute the onions and all the other masalas along with the chickpeas.
  4. Cover and simmer on medium heat stirring in between for about 6 to 7 minutes.
  5. Garnish with coriander, green chillies and with a dash of lemon juice.
  6. Serve piping hot.
