About Amrut pak Recipe

This is my first recipe in this group. A recipe which we make only during Diwali. My mother inlaw special . The most delicious and healthy Amrut pak.

Amrut pak

Ingredients to make Amrut pak

  • 250g sugar
  • 125g desiccated coconut
  • 125g khyoa (mawa) grated
  • 125g ghee
  • 2 Cups water
  • 250g sooji
  • Chopped almonds and powdered cardamon to garnish

How to make Amrut pak

  1. In nonstick pan heat ghee and roast Sooji till colour changes to slight pink. Remove and keep in separate bowl.
  2. In the same pan roast the khoya. Till it leaves ghee and the khoya gathers in centre of the pan. Remove it and keep in a separate bowl
  3. In the same pan Add sugar and water bring it to boil till the syrup is of two strings between ur thumb and index finger. When reached to the desire consistency turn off the gas.
  4. To this sugar syrup add Sooji desiccated Coconut and khoya and keep stirring till the mixture combines well . Nearly this would take 7 min.
  5. Grease a square tin with ghee. And put the Amrut pak in it and tap it flat in the tray garnish with almonds and cardamon powder
  6. Once cooled make equal portions .
  7. Serve this too your guest this Diwali.

My Tip:

Incase if the sugar syrup is turned too thick you can add a little water or milk approx 2 tbsp.
