Ingredients to make Russian Salad Sandwich / Toast

  • 1 boiled potato
  • 1 onion, chopped finely
  • 2 cups of assorted vegetables like cabbage, capsicum, boiled peas, boiled beetroot ,carrot
  • 1 piece of canned pineapple, cut into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoon fresh cream
  • 1 tablespoon curd
  • 1 cube cheese, grated
  • 1 chopped green chilli
  • Few drops of lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1/4 teaspoon white or blast black pepper
  • salt to taste
  • 8 slices of bread
  • 2 tablespoon butter

How to make Russian Salad Sandwich / Toast

  1. Cut the boiled potatoes into very small pieces.
  2. Chop all the rest of the vegetables as finely as you can.
  3. Add the potatoes, onion, all vegetables and rest of the ingredients, except the bread and butter in a bowl to make the salad.
  4. Mix up the filling ingredients gently till they all come together.
  5. Remove the crust of the slices and apply little butter on one side of each slice.
  6. Take 2 slices and put in a tablespoon of the filling. Press it gently.
  7. Toast in sandwich toaster or iron tawa for 1 minute each side till golden brown .
  8. Sprinkle cheese and mayonnaise on top.
  9. Cut into pieces and serve hot.
