Ingredients to make Pure Coconut Milk

  • Fresh Grated coconut: Grated from bigger half portion of the coconut- 1 cup
  • water: 2 cups

How to make Pure Coconut Milk

  1. Load the mixer jar with the grated coconut, add in 1/3 cup of water and grind it for a few seconds.
  2. Transfer this mixture into a filter with very small perforations and gently press it with the back of the spoon.
  3. Collect the extract in a bowl and keep it aside. Do not discard the residue. This first extract is the thick coconut milk.
  4. Now transfer the residue into the mixer jar again, now pour in 1/2 cup of water and once again grind it for a few more seconds.
  5. Filter the contents in the same way and collect the extract in another bowl separately without mixing it with the first extract. The second extract is the thin coconut milk.
  6. Repeat this process of grinding the coconut residue with water 1 or 2 times again and collect the extract in the same second bowl.
  7. Both the thicker and thinner forms of pure coconut milk are ready for cooking.
